It’s Official: Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks Will Be Co-Star in Spielberg’s “The Papers”

Two of the greatest actors of our times meet the giant of film industry: Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg unite their talents in their last cinematographic effort.

For the very first time, Hanks and Streep will share the set.

Not by chance, they are two of the most beloved actors in Hollywood. They have 25 Oscar nominations between them. Tom made us fall in love with him with his interpretation of the mentally retarded but adorable Forrest Gump, in the far 1994; Meryl is considered one of the greatest actresses of all time, with her 3 Oscars won and 20 nominations.

In the Steven Spielberg-directed drama, Hanks plays the legendary former Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee, while Streep plays Washington Post publisher Katharine ‘Kay’ Graham, the country’s first female publisher.

Based on true events, in centers on the newspaper’s battle to publish the infamous Pentagon Papers, which ultimately exposed how the US government had secretly stepped up its actions in the Vietnam War.
