Lipstick is one of those makeup tools that we should always bring with us in our beauty case.
But sometimes it’s hard to find the right shade that perfectly matches with our faces and personalities. Here, an easy guide to choose the right one for you! 😉
1 – Determine your skin tone
The first thing to do is to examine your complexion:Â fair (extremely light), light, medium, tan, deep. If you have difficulties, look at the color of the veins on the inside of your wrist: if the are blue, you have cool skin; if the are green, you have warm skin; if you can’t identify with precision the color of your veins, you probably have neutral skin and then you can choose any color you prefer.
If you have fair or light skin, try light pink, coral, peach, nudes, or beige.
If you have medium skin, try rose or mauve.
If you have tan skin, try to avoid browns and purples and go for colors with an orange undertone, like coral.
If you have a deep skin, try browns or purples like walnut, caramel, plum, or wine.
2 – Find Your Everyday Color
The color of the lipstick you use everyday should be two shades deeper than your natural lip color.
3 – Smaller or larger lips?
Dark shades of lipstick will make your lips look smaller, while lighter shades can add plumpness.
4 – Remember: if you focus on the lips, don’t overdo your makeup!
Just wear a little mascara or eyeliner.
