When Romy and Alain first met they were in their early 20s and they both fell in love with each other immediately.
Romy, against her mother’s will, moved to France to live with Alain. They spent almost 5 years together but then, suddenly, Alain decided to leave Romy for another woman, Nathalie, leaving Romy alone. Still they remained lifelong friends.
During the late 60s, when Romy was facing a very difficult moment in her carrier, Alain convinced the director of cult movie La Piscine to hire her. Although a lot of time had passed since the last time they saw each other, their incredible chemistry was the same. A stuntman on set said once:
“On the set of La Piscine, when I got near Romy and Alain, I noticed that they were connected to each other, it was a kind of osmosis, like an invisible thread that connected them, it was very romantic.. The people who were present respected this osmosis between them, this tenderness, it was obvious.”
A real never ending love story, confirmed by Alain himself few years ago.
