The show saw a six-year run premiering in 1993, and followed the quirky family’s hilarious day-to-day lives.
The show ran for six seasons, ending in 1999, and it received multiple Emmy nominations throughout its course, including Drescher’s nomination for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series for her character, Fran Fine.
Fran Drescher is a true 90s icon, with her unique nasally voice and eccentric personality.
Fran is now a theater star.
Drescher made her Broadway debut on February 4, 2014, in the revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
On January 8, 2020, it was announced that Drescher and Jacobson were writing the book for a musical adaptation of The Nanny.
Drescher will not portray the title role, as she joked that if she did “We’d have to change the title to The Granny!”
She”s great, and her comic timing is impeccable. She wore out the fashion sense, in the sense that, with her figure..she.could.wear.ANYTHING. ;]
