Good news about ‘And Just Like That‘ Season 2.
According to the Daily Mail, instead of killing off beloved character Samantha, the writers are leaving things open-ended by saying she and Carrie Bradshaw had a falling out.
But what will happen in Season 2?
“Viewers will learn that Samantha and Carrie have fallen out over Carrie firing Samantha as her publicist and that they no longer talk,” a source said. “This effectively ends their personal relationship.” But Samantha will not be forgotten. Apparently, Carrie “misses her friend” throughout the first season, leaving the opportunity for reconciliation in season two.
HBO hasn’t officially announced a season two for the series, yet the insider said it’s all but guaranteed. “This isn’t a one-off, this will be a series,” they claimed.
As for if Cattrall wants to come back, it’s unclear.
The show’s creators are hopeful that by touching upon Kim and Sarah Jessica’s real-life spat in the show, they can persuade the actress to return to reprise her iconic character one more time.
“Carrie is the one who has the tough time without Samantha and by the end of And Just Like That you’ll see Carrie extend the olive branch and try and rekindle the friendship,” the source revealed.
“This isn’t about more money. It’s not about more scenes. It’s not about any of those things. This is about a clear decision, an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another,” Cattrall told Piers Morgan in 2017.
