Kate Hudson has urged fans to stop washing their face to benefit their skin after receiving advice from a professional make-up artist.
The actress refuses to use any skincare treatments on her face when she wakes up, instead opting for water with a flannel after taking advice from Hollywood makeup artist Gucci Westman.
“I’m really simple. I thought that as I got older my skin would be able to take more. And, in fact, my skin is sensitive. The less I use, the better. I wake up and, honestly, I don’t do any cleanser. I do water on my face in the morning with a cloth,” Kate says in an interview with Allure.
Gucci told her this when she was in her mid-twenties doing Kate’s makeup.
“She said, ‘You’ve got to stop washing your face in the morning. You don’t need to do that. That’s probably why you’re kind of breaking out more than you would normally.’ I stopped, and then my skin got so much better. So that’s what I do. And I’ve been doing it forever,” Kate shares.
When it comes to how she feels about beauty overall, the star admits it changes with age, but she is now at a point where she believes is what “makes her feel good.”
“Oh, God. It changes, doesn’t it, [as] you get older? Beauty. That word. It’s such an important word because I’m a believer that it starts with what you eat and how you take care of yourself, and how you sleep. For me, beauty is about how we feel. What are we doing in our lives that make us feel good? And then it emanates,” she shares with Allure.
