Johnny Depp’s doorman Alejandro Romero makes everyone laugh during his unothodox testimony in Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial.
Even Johnny Depp couldn’t stop laughing as the doorman of his building described how Amber Heard had asked him to investigate an intruder after the dog scratched their front door.
Heard and her friend Rocky Pennington told him that someone tried to get into their apartment in West Hollywood, according to Romero.
“What?’ Four inches off the ground? The dog was scratching.” said Romero.
“‘In my head, you think someone is trying to get into your unit with scratches four inches above the floor?” In that very moment Depp burst out laughing, immediately followed by the public. “They were terrified,” Romero added.
“They asked me to go inside the unit and inspect each room individually. It’s part of my job, so I did it”.
During his testimony, Romero also blew smoke out his nose after apparently taking a hit from a vaping device while giving the deposition in his car on his cell phone.
Then he started driving, losing patience with lawyers. Afterward, Heard’s lawyer, Bredehoft, described the deposition as “the most bizarre deposition” she had ever done. “I’ve never seen that before,” Judge Penney Azcarate added.
“Ugh,” he grumbled. “Romero lost his cool at one point and expressed his displeasure with having to speak with the lawyers.
Romero vs Amber Heard
On May 25, 2016, Romero met Heard, four days after the final squabble between Heard and Depp before the divorce. She claims he hit her in the apartment with a cellphone, but Romero denied it.
At the time, Romero said he didn’t see any bruises or cuts on Heard’s face and that she was 3 feet away from him.
“That’s correct,” he said when asked if he would have seen anything because they were so close and the light was good.
When an exasperated Romero said he wasn’t checking if Heard’s eyelashes are not even, Depp laughed again.
When Romero responded to another question with, “I don’t remember what I got for breakfast,” the courtroom erupted in laughter once more.
