Paulina Porizkova always serves her iconic and stunning Instagram posts with a side of powerful messaging. The supermodel recently posted a video of herself showing off her super-toned abs and legs in a bikini on the beach, but it’s the caption about embracing her body at 57 that is truly inspirating.
“I was trying to walk out of the water all swinging hips and sexy, but was undercut by the currents, waves, and dips in the sand. Oh, and my hip arthritis. 😂” Porizkova wrote in the caption.
She continued: “I will be turning 58 soon, and couldn’t appreciate my body more. It takes a lot of work, especially with the janky hips…Staying in shape takes much more time and effort, but it allows me to fully inhabit this shell I was given at birth, something I took for granted most of my life. But not anymore. Now it’s a deliberate decision to allow it to work as best as it can, being grateful for its ability to move me through the world to keep harvesting the beauty of it all. Pain included. ❤️”
This isn’t the first Instagram post where Porizkova touts a positive perspective on aging and embracing her changing body. Just earlier this month, she welcomed the new year with a topless photo and a message about how she’s “finally comfortable in my own skin.” She’s also been known to share the regular makeup-free selfie, again saying that she “has nothing to hide.”
With her most recent post, much like her stunning photos in the past, fans flooded the comments with support and admiration, with plenty of fire emojis (because of course). One fan wrote: “It looks all swinging hips and sexy to me. ❤️” and another said, “You’re so lovable with your vulnerability. ❤️”
When it comes to staying in shape, Porizkova has been vocal about her fitness journey. Most recently, she shared a workout video, but was sure to say, “Staying in shape after menopause takes a lot of frickin’ work.”
She explained in the caption that due to issues with her hips, “I’ve had to cut down on my Pilates since I came back for the jungle shooting #beyondtheedge because my hips won’t cooperate. What I’m doing instead, for now, is some serious PT. I found an amazing personal trainer at my local Crunch, Shelly, who alternates hip PT with strength training.”
Much like her fans in the comments, we always love to see Porizkova’s inspiring and powerful messages on social media, and how she continues embracing her body with every year that passes. We can’t wait to see what she shares with us next!
