Jennifer Lopez Switches Things up and Reverts Back to Her Signature Mocha Brown Roots

After showing off her natural, extension-free hair, Jennifer Lopez added the length back and returned to her almost expensive brunette, mocha brown tresses.

After showing off her natural, extension-free hair, Jennifer Lopez added the length back and returned to her almost expensive brunette, mocha brown tresses.

For the first half of the year, we’ve seen Lopez with caramel-inspired highlights become a brunette and blonde toss-up, making the most perfect “bronde” finish.

Her switching it up to a darker color before spring is an interesting choice. The color transformation was done by hairstylist and colorist Lorenzo Martin and he really delivered the slayage that speaks to the refined #6 Train goddess glow of Lopez.

It’s reminiscent of her “Fly Girl” hair color days when she danced on the ’90s sitcom shot, In Living Color. Obviously, we love a nostalgic yet trend-worthy moment.

We love this glossy new look for Jlo and are delighted with the outcome of her voluminous lengths. With award season coming up, we can only expect more serves to come.

This, of course, isn’t the first time Lopez has posted a mirror selfie that sent me spiraling into highlight conspiracy theories. Just 10 months ago, she shared a similar shot with an equally uninformative caption after a session with stylist Andrew Fitzsimons that looked like a similar departure from her usually golden-glossed look.

At least this time, she included the hashtag #THISISMENOW, which, yes, is how she’s been tagging most of her posts lately โ€” a reference to the name of her next album. But in this case, it also feels like an understandably confident declaration of her new hair color.
